In an open letter to President Trump, Crowdfunding expert and angel investor Ike Lemuwa asks for the enactment of the National Conference on Forgiveness and Reconciliations to unite the people of the United States

In an effort to unite the United States, a prominent Nigerian-born author, angel investor, public speaker and crowdfunding expert, Ike Lemuwa, implored the president to immediately enact the National Conference on Forgiveness and Reconciliations to save the citizens of this country. In an open letter, Lemuwa asked President Donald Trump to stop the divide that is happening in the United States by offering his expertise and experience to help convene a conference to begin the healing of the country.

Lemuwa is a Nigerian-born, American citizen that has headed various CEO coaching groups including the Ike Lemuwa Mastermind Platinum Group and 198TILG United States of America CEO Networks. In his letter to President Trump, Lemuwa called for immediate action to unite the people of the United States regardless of religion, race, culture or gender. Through the National Conference on Forgiveness and Reconciliations, Americans will be able to bring forth their differences and seek solutions that will allow the country to move forward as one.

In the letter, Lemuwa pointed to the great divide that has fractured the country with the election of President Trump to office. There has been much civil unrest followed by protests that are only expected to escalate without a solution in place to resolve the differences of the people. With the National Conference on Forgiveness and Reconciliations, President Trump will be able to allow the people of the United States to come together and air their grievances and truly move forward as one country with a nation of people that are united.

Lemuwa asked President Trump to stop ignoring the majority of people that are dissatisfied with this country saying, “For too long your administrators have catered to just the top 1 percent of the wealthiest individuals, groups, and communities of the United States. This is no way to run a country by ignoring  hundreds of Millions of Americans that feel they are not included under your leadership. Don’t alienate them any longer. Make the effort to include all individuals of the United States of America regardless of their religion, race, culture or gender.”

In addition, Lemuwa called for President Trump to create the country that all citizens have envisioned. Only through a National Conference on Forgiveness and Reconciliations, can he lift up the people and create a united front. This is the only way that, President Trump can truly, Make America Great Again and have the people of the United States on his side.

President Trump came into office on Jan. 20, 2017 after a tumultuous campaign that left much of the country divided. He has many great supporters and many great detractors that are protesting his leadership. Even on his inauguration day, protests erupted in Washington, D.C. which was followed by a Women’s March of thousands on the capital.

In order for President Trump to succeed in his leadership, he needs to enact the National Conference on Forgiveness and Reconciliations, and allow the country to begin the healing process. Lemuwa has offered his assistance to develop a conference and process that will give the country the opportunity to seek forgiveness and acceptance among its people and leadership.

Through his help, Lemuwa believes the National Conference on Forgiveness and Reconciliations is what the United States needs to heal and begin moving forward. He offered President Trump the opportunity to put this conference in place and begin the process of Making America Great Again. Private schools to lead UAE education sector growth into 2020

• Enrolment increases and continued quality improvement expected in K-12 although UAE is still behind OECD averages and its own National Agenda Target in international assessment results

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The private school sector in the UAE is expected to continue to drive the growth of the Emirates’ education market to 2020.

Over 175,000 additional seats are predicted to be required in the K-12 segment in the next four years, and 90% of this will come from private school enrolees.

Almost all of the Emirates, led by Dubai, are witnessing growth in private K-12 enrolment, with the exception of Fujairah. However, as more quality schools are opening, efforts to attract and retain students will become a more pressing issue for school operators.

The data was released through a study published by PwC Middle East, Understanding the GCC Education Sector, Country Profile: UAE, ahead of the largest gathering of education stakeholders in the Middle East, Global Education Supplies and Solutions (GESS) Dubai 2017, which will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre on March 14-16.

“The study presents a positive outlook for the education market in the UAE, and perceptively presents not just opportunities but also challenges for those involved in shaping the future of education in the country. Coming from an esteemed organization such as PwC, this will hopefully bring to light needed action steps for stakeholders to ensure the continued success of the UAE education sector,” said Matt Thompson, Project Director, F&E Education, organisers of GESS Dubai 2017.

Other significant findings of the report show that based on historic demographic trends, Dubai is forecast to require 74,500 additional seats in 50 new private schools by 2020, while 62,000 additional seats in 52 new private schools in the same period will be needed in Abu Dhabi.

“Making sense of a rapidly evolving education market in the Gulf region is challenging given the availability of information. In our emerging series of reports – Understanding the GCC Education Sector – we profile each of the six countries in the GCC, to contribute to a better appreciation of the trends and issues being faced by decision makers in both the private and public sectors. At GESS Dubai, our Dubai based team of education experts hopes to engage a broad audience of education stakeholders in the debate that we hope will ultimately prove useful for all those involved in shaping the future of education in this part of the world,” said Roland Hancock, PwC Middle East Education Director.

Sally Jeffery, PwC Middle East Education & Skills Partner and PwC Global Education Sector Leader points out that “The public education systems in the GCC are using national curricula, which have a lot of reform to go through still. They are not as mature as international curricula and content and the pedagogy is very different. They are putting a lot of effort into modernising their curricula but that process is difficult to do it quickly. In the private sector there are a couple of areas that are underserved. Pre-school is growing at twice the rate of K-12 and that demand can be met by smaller sized facilities, and regulation – particularly pricing – is less controlled than in K-12, although this may be changing as the government focuses more on early learning. There are also gaps in higher education, which need development funding, particularly for STEM [science, technology, engineering and mathematics] subjects, which are much needed, but expensive to operate.  Leading STEM universities world-wide depend heavily on their endowment funds.”

The report also notes that given the increasing number and quality of schools, parents have a better selection of schools in which to enrol their children. This choice puts pressure on those not ranked by government authorities as either ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ to improve their offerings in order to attract students. It is expected that cost will play a critical role in changing the supply-demand dynamic, with calls for Dubai to have more quality schools below the average annual tuition of AED40,000.

More insights from the report include that in Dubai, UK and Indian curriculum schools continue to dominate but that IB curriculum schools are becoming an increasingly popular option among parents. Meanwhile, in Abu Dhabi, Indian and American curriculum schools are driving growth but British curriculum schools remain popular choices with parents considering admission to lower cost European higher education institutes.

As for the Pre-K education segment, formal education is being encouraged by the UAE government in this sector, potentially paving the way for a significant increase in the number of providers targeting this age group. For example, if UAE were to reach the OECD average participation rate of 33% for 0-2 year olds by 2020, PwC estimates that over 81,500 additional seats will be required.

Insights from over 130 education experts and speakers who will come to share their expertise at than more than 200 workshops, panel discussions and sessions will take place at the CPD-accredited conference at GESS Dubai.

War Prevention Initiative: Executive Order Limiting Refugees Into the U.S. is Inhumane, Misguided and Counterproductive.

PORTLAND, OR – 2/1/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET) — Citing concerns over national security and the threat of terrorism, President Trump signed an Executive Order on January 27, 2017, indefinitely barring Syrian refugees from entering the United States, suspending all refugee admissions for 120 days and imposing a 90 day ban of immigrants and nonimmigrants from seven predominantly Muslim countries: Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen. This is a blanket suspicion for 205 million people. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights denounced Donald Trump’s ban on U.S. travel from several Muslim-majority countries, claiming the executive order was “mean-spirited, and wastes resources needed for proper counter-terrorism” and illegal under international human rights law.

“The abstract horrors of such a ban, which has been announced throughout the electoral campaign through inciting rhetoric, became very real when news spread about detentions at U.S. airports,” said Patrick Hiller, Executive Director of the War Prevention Initiative. “For those of us who use our skills and expertise to work for a more just and peaceful world, the implementation of this order sent shockwaves through our bodies. We recognize an utter lack of compassion with those who suffer most from the horrors of war and persecution, we recognize the rejection of American core values and we consider such a ban absolutely counter-productive.”

The global refugee crisis emerging from the Middle East and North Africa is primarily rooted in wars and conflicts caused by historical and current Western policies toward the region and its people. The medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) said that the suspension of U.S. refugee resettlement endangers people fleeing war zones. Except for Iran, the countries affected by the ban are among the ten least peaceful countries in the world, according to the 2016 Global Peace Index. The refugees are not faceless masses, but individuals and families whose lives have been uprooted and who are displaced from their homes, often forever. They are direct victims of conflicts and wars. As such, they are fellow humans who were affected by loss of loved ones, destruction of homes and infrastructure, the use of depleted uranium, malnutrition, diseases, lawlessness, persecution, intra-state killings, rape and other forms of sexual violence and large-scale social injustices. Turning our back on them is not compatible with a compassionate view of all humans regardless of origin, religion or race.

If the goal of this Executive Order is to protect the United States against terrorism, then it is a highly misguided way to achieve it. The ban on immigrants does not address the national origins of any terrorist attackers on U.S. soil, including the 9/11 attackers. Daniel Benjamin, former State Department Counterterrorism Coordinator, noted that “the jihadist threat in the United States has turned out to be largely homegrown”, and the order “will encourage precisely the resentments and anxieties on the part of Muslims that fuel, in rare cases, support for the ideology of the Islamic State or Al Qaeda.” Apart from the affronts to American and human values, the Executive Order will fail at granting the security that the President promises. Experts say that by targeting Muslims, the Executive Order will provide ISIS and like organizations with a renewed wave of recruits by playing into their beliefs that the West is at war with Islam. The Executive Order will also jeopardize the western militaries and diplomats in the region, the same people Trump claims to be championing.

Instead of inhumane, misguided and counter-productive responses to terrorism, the War Prevention Initiative is part of a community of experts who rely on best practices and scientific insights into providing numerous viable measures to transform terrorism. Immediate approaches rely on national and international law enforcement and judicial processes for individuals and groups involved in acts of terror, while long-term measures aimed at structural prevention address terrorism at its roots as a political, social and cultural problem.

It is for this reason that we strongly condemn the Executive Order and continue to advocate for politics of inclusion and common security of all humans.

GIRL ASSAULTED DURING SUNDANCE SCREENING OF CONTROVERSIAL FILM “THE LUCIFER EFFECT”

PARK CITY, UT – 1/31/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET) — Disturbing news coming out of Sundance Film Festival on its final weekend, which has sent shivers through Park City is the unsettling events at the midnight screening of controversial physiological experimental film; ‘The Lucifer Effect’.

Originally set in an abandoned, haunted mental asylum, in England, the film centers around 8 people, from all warps of life, who thought they had bought a ‘movie role’ in a horror film; only to be locked inside the asylum to test the hypothesis if “good” people turn “bad” trapped in an evil environment. The film is a paranormal twist on the ill-fated Stanford Prison Experiment from 1971; which was also shut down.

The film has been in and out of the headlines following a number of bizarre incidents including the experiment being shut down by Lincolnshire Police, a real-life exorcism broadcast on Brazilian TV and even two girls having fits during a previous screening in London; which might have been caused by subliminal messages in the film.

After the events of yesterday, it would appear the alleged curse might have found its way to Sundance. A photo has been posted online of the girl who was assaulted whilst the lights mysteriously went out during the film’s midnight screening. The film was not apart of the official festival program due to its dark subject matter.

John Valenti, manager of the screening room, who also attended the screening committed; “The energy in the room was rowdy and excitable due to the nature and history of the film anyway. However, when the lights went dark, we heard a loud commotion and discovered a girl had a cut on her eye when the backup lights were eventually switched on.”

The girl in question is Hollyann Carroll, who posted a picture of her cut eye on Facebook; she is known to be fine but was shaken by what happened. The venue does not want to be named and is investigating the incident.

The film’s new Producer; Henry Fox added; “We believe it could have been someone who threw something when the lights went out as a prank. But, it is kind of strange due to the history of the film and what happened at the London screening. We ended up stopping the screening as most people wanted a stiff drink to settle their nerves. We have decided to finally release the film to warn people against using Ouija boards”.

The new producers took over the film and have finally decided to release it against the advice of the original director who has expressed his concerns surrounding the film. The film has been delayed six years due to a legal conflict about what happened in the asylum and during the experiment.

16-year-old App Developer Launches Crowdfunding Project For Elevator Video Game

Elevator Jungle, an interactive mobile-based video game designed to simulate adventure and activity in rows of moving elevators, this week officially launched an IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign for garnering widespread support and the necessary financial backing to expand and develop the game even farther.

Developed by a 16-year-old programmer with a knack for programming interactive and eye-catching games that will entertain anyone, no matter their age, Elevator Jungle is in need of financial support for further app development and game programming elements.

“Programming is undoubtedly my passion, which is why I pursued the creation of Elevator Jungle on my own dime,” said Loris Wilwert. “The rollout of the game in the Google Play and Apple App Store has eaten up most of my funds, pointing me in the direction of launching an IndieGoGo campaign for sharing my creation and vision with financial backers around the world.”

Young entrepreneur Kerryann Ivey survived a car accident and the brain surgery that followed at the young age of three years old. Ever since then, she has believed that God spared her life for a reason – to spread the love of Christ. In 2013, Ivey had a dream that inspired PBL Fashion after praying for an idea that would allow her to help those in need and bring change to the world. She is finally ready to move forward with this idea and take her clothing line to the next level. 

PLB Fashion is a high-end line of faith-based clothing that is available to customers exclusively online. In times like these, it is important to spread positive messages that aim to bring people together, so Ivey has been working tirelessly to get her business off the ground. Ten percent of the proceeds from the Indiegogo campaign with be donated to help feed children worldwide.
