More good news was released last month concerning PPCH, the Australian-based biotechnology company seeking to develop new long term treatments for cancer. Propanc announced the completion of the low dose group for the GLP-Compliant 28-day repeat-dose toxicity study for its lead product PRP, a solution for once daily intravenous administration of pancreatic proenzymes trypsinogen and chymotrypsinogen.

This is a crucial stage for testing new drugs as this stage tests the drug for both safety and efficacy. “We are very pleased to have successfully completed the first stage of our 28-day study,” said James Nathanielsz, Propanc’s Chief Executive Officer. “There were no clinical observations, nor any adverse effects observed from any of the animals and, in fact, all animals gained body weight within the expected range.”

FIRST-IN-MAN STUDIES EXPECTED FOR PPCH

No treatment related effects were observed in the animals in the study and the once-daily dosing by IV injection was successfully accomplished. Results from the study help provide a rationale for a safe starting dose for first-in-man studies targeted late 2017, or early 2018, depending on successful completion of manufacture of the investigational new drug (IND).

“Given we have now identified a dosing group in the 28-day study with no safety concerns, it gives us great confidence that we are close to defining a safe starting dose for our First-In-Man studies,” said Professor Klaus Kutz, Propanc’s Chief Medical Officer.

Freiburg, Germany – On March 12 2017, HOK launched a Kickstarter campaign for Touch #1, the first installment in a mystery crime comic series about a female cop who can see other people’s emotions. The comic’s creator, HOK, is a comic maniac who authored and penciled Touch.

“My main interest is to entertain people. Suck them in at the first panel, let them have a good time and spill them out relaxed and happy at the last panel,” he says, “In this comic there are the good guys, the bad guys and the true hero, who’s suffering a lot for the greater good. I love this classic approach, and it works very well, even without planet-smashing super powers.”

OSAKIS, MN – 1 Apr, 2017 – The Women Anglers of Minnesota (WAM) is proud to celebrate their 40^th Anniversary as the nation’s longest standing fishing club for women. The first WAM President Sybil Smith was quoted, “Why do we need a separate fishing organization for women? Because most women grew up with the notation that fishing, like football and finance, was a boy’s only activity.” So, in 1977, the idea was born to form a Women’s Fishing Club.

Club members include multi-generations of mother, daughter and grandmothers, where younger members were raised coming to club events. One longtime member recalls bringing her girls to the monthly meetings in their car seats. Today, all of her daughters are adults with children of their own and their family remains active the organization.

On Saturday, June 3, the club will hold their 40^th annual all-women’s fishing tournament on Lake Osakis. The multi-species, fundraising tournament will be headquartered at Head of the Lakes Resort where 100+ members from across Minnesota and neighboring states come together to fish for 23 different trophies and over $8,000 in prize money. Tournament entry fees help raise money that is used for promoting and operating many kids fishing clinics throughout the year.

To further commemorate the 40-year milestone, a celebration will be held on Saturday, September 23 at the Osseo/Maple Grove Legion Post 172. The event will welcome the founding members, current members and their families and honorary guests including many fishing industry professionals; plus food, entertainment and fundraising.
