Chiang Mai, Thailand – Coffeegeek.tv, based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is founded and headed by coffee enthusiast, Tim Sutton. Tim has been a coffee connoisseur most of his adult life, and is now branching into the territory of an artisan coffee lover. He is excited to produce and star in a series of broadcast shows about his adventures in sipping different coffees as he bounces around the world, always on a mission to procure the best tips and tricks, how-tos, and general knowledge of artisan and specialty coffees.
Tim has reminisced fondly about his foray into coffee culture, saying, “New Years eve 2013, I was introduced to speciality coffee by Tyson Adams at his cafe Jhai Coffee House in the middle of nowhere in southern regional village of Paksong, Laos – The heart of the Bolaven Plateau where some of the finest beans are grown in Southeast Asia. This was my first drip-style pour over brew and was served with no cream, no sugar, black as the ace of spades….. and I hated it. However, after 4 days of continued persistence, I grew to fall in love with this artisan style coffee. The Coffee Geek within me was unleashed.”
Sutton hopes to bring an increased awareness to the value and bold flavors of coffee from Thailand, while giving his readers something to smile about in the morning. Through his travels, Tim Sutton has met and befriended a number of unique individuals, all through their love of caffeinated beverages. This blogger doesn’t fashion himself an expert in the trade, nor does he give long lectures on the proper way to taste and enjoy various coffee products. Instead, Sutton’s blog is all about connecting with others and trying new things, exploring the artisan coffee experience that Chiang Mai and other Thailand locations have to offer.
He goes on to say, “my coffee knowledge continues to grow exponentially. But because the knowledge of coffee is vast and complex, I still call myself a beginner, as there is always something new to learn from the coffee realm. These days I spend most of my time based in Chiang Mai, hopping from cafe to cafe, discovering some of the best specialty coffee artisans this beautiful city has to offer and shooting videos of what I have discovered so I can share it with others”
