LOS ANGELES, CA – 6 Sep, 2016 – Bahamian sensation Julien Believe is bringing the Bahamas to an international stage with the release of his festive anthem, “Party Ambassadors”. Joined by Ricardo Drue, Fadda Fox and the one and only Beenie Man, “Party Ambassadors” produced by Christopher “C-Ray” Roberts (K-Ci & Jojo, French Montana, Juelz Santana) will be exclusively released on Tidal September 6th. The video, shot and directed by Lavado Stubbs of Conchboy Films, grants viewers a taste of Julien Believe’s “Junkanoo Pop” sound that is taking the Caribbean by storm.
Julien Thompson, better known by his stage name “Julien Believe” is no stranger to the scene. His eclectic mix of island infused pop landed him the Bahamian Icon Award for “Most Popular Song” for his viral hit “The Caribbean Slide” in 2014. In 2015, Believe performed at the Miss World competition in Sanya, China and was nominated for the Cacique Award for “Song of the Year”. His writing skills and smooth vocals propelled him to collaborating with nine-time Grammy Award winner John Legend and Grammy Award winning producer Rockwilder.
“I watched DJ Khaled take Chris Brown, Jeremih and August Alsina and put all of them on one song,” says Believe. “I decided I needed to do something like this in the Caribbean. ‘Party Ambassadors’ is the first record from a Bahamian artist with Beenie Man. It was farfetched getting him but I have a friend out of Jamaica, who was one of my first managers, and he and Beenie have a pretty strong relationship. I asked him to see if he could assist with getting Beenie on the record and the rest was history.”
The additional collaborators Ricardo Drue and Fadda Fox came from Believe performing at the Junkanoo Carnival festival held in the Bahamas. Julien took to the stage to perform his hit single and #1 played song of 2015 on Bahamian radio “Live and Wine” with international Soca star Bunji Garlin. “Party Ambassadors” continues to showcase Caribbean unity at its best.
“The love was strong and I’m truly grateful for the support that I’ve received from each of them,” states Believe. “We even had a guest appearance by Teddyson John in the video. It’s a brotherhood. I’m treated more like family and that’s what means the most to me. That’s why I felt it was important to show the camaraderie.”
With a strong sense of family and community, Julien creates music “from the heart”. It is no wonder that his experiences have led him to being an inspiration for the music scene in the Bahamas and Caribbean. As Pop music around the world is dipping their feet in the musical oceans of the Caribbean, Believe feels now is the time for Soca and his Junkanoo Pop sound to make a big wave abroad.
“I feel the world is ready for Soca, especially after they hear ‘Party Ambassadors’ which is the perfect fusion of Soca, Pop and Dance,” exclaims Believe. “Party Ambassadors excites listeners and takes them on a party ride from beginning to end.”
Don’t count on Believe’s fete ending any time soon. His bold, brave and determined personality won’t rest until the rest of the world joins the party.
“When it is all said and done I want to make my family, friends, team and country proud,” says Believe. “When people hear my music and see my videos, I want them to be associated with positive vibes and good feelings. I hope to be around for a while, making history for my country and the Caribbean. I’m looking forward to bringing a Grammy home…you can believe that.”
“Party Ambassadors” will be available on all digital platforms September 7th 2016 and broadcasting to major music networks the following week.
