Ideological Response To Terrorism

In the past, we have seen sweeping generalizations about Muslims, Islamists or Sunni militants and false binaries between Islam and West, Muslims and Christians or Jews, Sunni and Shia, Saudi Arabia and Iran etc that misrepresent the specific issue of extremism and terrorism in certain sections of Wahhabi, Salafi and Deobandi (WSD) communities, driven by the exclusivist ideology of Takfir (Othering and violence). Our event will unpack this complex issue by focusing on the book “Faith Based Violence and Deobandi Militancy in Pakistan,” a primer for governments seeking an integrated and contextual approach to addressing terrorism. It provides an accurate, updated narrative that’s unconstrained by political correctness or by suppression from theocracies and despots.  

The book highlights the South Asian extension of Salafi-Wahhabi violence and terrorism, which are largely ignored by the mainstream media despite the fact that they drive the violence of terrorist organizations like ISIS and Al Qaeda.  Typically, Deobandi militancy is subsumed under the vague and generalized category of Islamist or Sunni violence, throughout mainstream media and academic discourse.  The book offers a corrective version of this problem, outlining how Deobandi militant organizations are aligned with the violent, Jihadist and Takfiri agendas of  Wahhabi/Salafi groups like ISIS and Al Qaeda. The  victims of these groups  include not just Christians, Hindus, Ezidis but also mainstream Sunni and Shia Muslims. From the London 7/7 bombings to the San Bernardino massacre in 2015, Deobandi footprints are aligned with those of Wahhabi Salafi groups like ISIS.

The editors of the book, Jawad Syed, Edwina Pio, Tahir Kamran and Abbas Zaidi, are global academic experts specializing in subjects including equality and human rights, diversity, religious extremism and government.   The book’s publisher is Palgrave Macmillan of London and the year of publication is 2016.

Legislative Response to Terrorism

The press event will also discuss the new bill introduced by Rep Tulsi Gabbard, Stop Arming Terrorists Act (H.R. 606), as the legislative response to terrorism.   

This bill prohibits the use of federal agency funds to provide covered assistance to: (1) Al Qaeda, Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), or any individual or group that is affiliated with, associated with, cooperating with, or adherents to such groups; or (2) the government of any country that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) determines has, within the most recent 12 months, provided covered assistance to such a group or individual.

AUSTIN – 10 Jun, 2017 – iRunway, a technology research firm specializing in patent licensing and litigation, has released an updated patent landscape report that charts the growth of 4G-LTE technology in the U.S. region over the last two years. Technology players are focusing on R&D that can scale up current telecommunications infrastructure to provide gigabit speeds with negligible latency.

Mobile performance in the U.S. has scaled up multifold in the last decade. Over the last two years, LTE-Advanced has become a mainstream technology with advanced Carrier Aggregation capabilities, high order MIMO systems and advanced modulation schemes. The growing spectrum is encouraging the adoption of VoLTE for its efficiency, and reduced operational and maintenance costs. Joining the race are automobile manufacturers who are increasingly incorporating data connection as an integral component of a vehicle. “Operators today are actively experimenting with robust Gigabit LTE networks which provide the base for 5G networks. These LTE features offer high speeds similar to wired fibre connections. The last two years have witnessed that marked transition of 4G-LTE network technology towards the next generation, which has resulted in some interesting trends in the US 4G-LTE patent landscape,” says Animesh Kumar, Chief Solutioning Officer of iRunway.

iRunway’s research analyzed 48,709 4G-LTE technology IP assets registered with the USPTO. The study showed that 4,578 4G-LTE patent applications were filed between 2014 and 2016, of which 1,859 IP assets were owned by Asian entities. LG Electronics, Samsung and Huawei lead the list of Asian entities with large IP assets and figure among the top 10 patent portfolio owners in 4G-LTE U.S. IP landscape.

iRunway also found that 21% of the 4G-LTE IP assets in the U.S. have been declared as standard essential patents (SEPs) with the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). Between 2015 and 2016, Samsung led the list with the highest number of 4G-LTE SEPs with 279 patents and applications, followed by Ericsson with 168 SEPs. Asian entities witnessed an increase in their 4G-LTE IP asset footprint in the U.S. patent landscape with a cumulative ownership of 46% of the SEPs. “Companies headquartered in Asia such as LG Electronics, Samsung, Sony and others have captured a fair share of the 4G-LTE market through their products and IP assets. In the last two years, Huawei has grown its 4G-LTE IP presence rapidly. Huawei has been actively researching HARQ technology in recent times, while LG Electronics has created a niche market for itself in Carrier Aggregation,” says Animesh Kumar.

LG Electronics made a late entry into the 4G-LTE IP landscape but scaled up through its M&As and in-house R&D to create a balanced portfolio in 4G-LTE. Though Samsung owns the highest number of total SEP assets (patents and applications), LG Electronics owns the highest number of granted SEPs in this space. There’s a clear race among Samsung, LG Electronics and Qualcomm in declaring SEPs that form a base for advanced 4G-LTE technology.

With companies beginning to test the 5G spectrum before its commercial deployment, patenting, licensing and monetization activities in 4G-LTE technologies are likely to increase.

      1. Longer indoor and outdoor measurement range (indoor: 22m; outdoor: above 10m);

      2. Lower noise. Almost no abnormal data within effective range;

      3. Sound signal discrimination algorithm for identification of abnormal data;

Overall Performance:

      1. Higher protection level, up to IP65;

      2. Pesticide corrosion resistant, with special enclosure material capable of resisting corrosion of most of the pesticides;

      3. Work normally even with optical window being contaminated by dirty water, sludge and other pollutants;

      4. Shock resistance. Unique design makes it more solid, shock resistant and infrangible;

      5. Additional function of bootloader to facilitate further software upgrade;

The application of TF02 in plant protection field is only the tip of the iceberg. This event seeks to dispel the associated myths and misconceptions and will highlight personal accounts of past and present refugees in the local Washington, DC area drawing on the diverse perspectives of the African, Asian, Latin American, European and Middle Eastern communities. The program will also look at the current situation as addressed by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) drawing on the past and present policies and actions taken at the local, national and global level.

BERLIN, GERMANY – 12 Jun, 2017 – NEUTRINO energy, once thought to be a technological and physical impossibility, is now developing into a global sensation.

The signs were already present in the fall of 2015: At this time two researchers from NEUTRINO’s international team were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics. Working independently of one another, both the Japanese scientist Takaaki Kajita and Canadian physicist Arthur McDonald were able to prove that neutrinos, tiny cosmic particles which permeate almost everything in the universe and which had long been believed to be massless, do in fact posses mass. This discovery was made possible thanks to testing methods developed by Kajita and McDonald.

At the moment of this discovery, however, very few people actually grasped its significance for humanity.

Neutrinos are high-energy particles that reach the earth in a never-ending flow. Unlike the visible spectrum of the light from the sun, this form of radiation cannot be perceived with the naked eye, and yet it is their mass that makes neutrinos the energy source of the future.

As Einstein already established: e=mc². According to the Theory of Relativity everything which possesses mass also contains energy. It has been possible to verify and measure NEUTRINO energy under experimental conditions for several years now, however the researchers who dreamed of tapping this energy were often mocked, and the energy itself was deemed to be supposedly non-existent, physically impossible, and thus not utilizable.

Nevertheless, one can hardly imagine the vast possibilities that the harnessing of NEUTRINO energy will open up in just a few short years. The principle is basically the same as that of a conventional solar cell, but with the advantage that a neutrino energy transformer is also able to deliver power in complete darkness. The neutrinos themselves are not captured in this process; instead, a portion of their kinetic energy is converted into electricity.

The cells require no light whatsoever. They transform a segment of the nonvisible spectrum into energy 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, and at any point on the earth’s surface. This will of course have an enormous impact on the world’s energy markets in the coming decades, as well as on industry and economy. Business models will change. Some sectors will disappear completely, while others will come into being.

A team from NEUTRINO Germany GmbH made up of international researchers and universities is currently working under the supervision of Holger Thorsten Schubart on the development of the first technical devices that will be able to convert NEUTRINO energy into electrical power for the end user. NEUTRINO Germany GmbH is a subsidiary of Neutrino Inc., located in the United States.

The initial goal is the harnessing of enough energy to power small electronic devices such as mobile phones so that the battery can be charged continuously without a cable using NEUTRINO radiation alone. Electrically powered vehicles that never need to stop at a charging station and thus have a virtually limitless range are the next step; and finally after years of exhausting research, the conversion of enough NEUTRINO energy to cover the needs of entire households.

In the future heating and energy will be provided through NEUTRINO Power-Cubes, thus eliminating the present reliance upon environmentally harmful substances such as oil and natural gas. And because these Power-Cubes will be implemented directly at the point where the energy is needed, it will also become unnecessary to produce electricity centrally and then send it hundreds of kilometers at great loss. Batteries will serve merely to bridge the gap during short periods of unusually high energy consumption.

Mass means energy, and there’s no way to stop the future! With this new technology we will finally have the means to meet our energy needs fairly and ecologically, thus putting an end to the geopolitical struggles and armed conflicts for natural resources that threaten the entire planet.

In a few short decades the lives of all of us could be safer and more fulfilling.

Should one call this a vision, or will it become a reality?
