HOLLYWOOD, CA – Scheduled to film in Picturesque Northwest Arkansas Dec 31-Jan 16. Award-Winning Director Marc Hampson will brave the cold with his crew from all over the country to tell this story of a woman lost & found. Marc Hampson has been asked by production company ‘Purpose Pictures’ (a small Hollywood-based production company made up of husband & wife team Ryan & Jennica Schwartzman) to come on board after their successful journey together for the road-trip feature “Gordon Family Tree” (released in March of 2014, having raised over $50,000 on Kickstarter.com in 2012). 

Kickstarter is a crowd-funding website that independent filmmakers from all over the world are turning to for unique financial support. Ryan & Jennica Schwartzman have Produced 2 successful Kickstarter funded projects and have launched a third TODAY, August 17th that will last until October 16th at 5pm PST. Purpose Pictures’ “Parker’s Anchor” stars Jennica Schwartzman, the appealing, scene-stealing actress from “Gordon Family Tree.” This is not her first rodeo with Director Marc Hampson- she also stars in his Award-Winning music-centered indie “Before The Lights Come Up” that took home “Best of Fest” at its World Premiere at Offshoot Film Fest (2016 release). “I feel very safe working with Marc, I trust his vision on set & in the editing room, I know I’m going to be moved by the journey” Jennica added. Krystal Parker’s best friend is played by actress Amy Argyle from the upcoming thriller “Frank & Lola” (Imogene Poots, Michael Shannon, Justin Long) and “Gone” (Amanda Seyfried, Wes Bentley). Also, Actress/Comedian/& Bestselling “Life As I Blow It” & newly released “Has Anyone Seen My Pants” author Sarah Colonna from “Chelsea Lately” will bring her comedic genius to the set. They are joined by actor Brandon Keener of “The Guilt Trip,” “Zoo Keeper,” “He’s Just Not That Into You,” and “Catch Me If You Can.”

The story of “Parker’s Anchor” follows Krystal Parker, who discovers late in adulthood that she is unable to have kids. The news slowly destroys her marriage; she moves back ‘home’ and leans on the support of her high school best friend. Krystal starts over – but is she really starting over? Or was this the plan for her life all along? This film is about relationships, struggling with identity, & letting go of plans.  

Partnering with producer & three-time Primetime Emmy-nominated Casting Director Elizabeth Barnes, CSA & Marc Hampson’s production company Brotherhood Pictures, the filmmakers are excited to attract the talent and female driven brands to complete the team. This film is a personal project inspired by true events close to the writers. The filmmakers invite women’s rights advocates, adoption advocates, infertility awareness groups, and interested parties to inquire how they may partner with this exciting film.

In concept, treatment is easy at an inpatient drug rehab facility.
When someone is considering entering treatment for drug addiction or alcoholism, there are a number of different fears and concerns that can become an inhibition to the progress of that good intention.

The mental image that many people may have is one of recovery programs as forced marches down a road of treatment, leading to the horrible life they have been working hard to escape. The traditional view of therapy as a long talk about problems that cannot be solved, or the perception that addiction is genetic and medical and; therefore, a disease that cannot be cured or treated, all stand in the way of some recovery opportunities. These are myths and should not be impediments to the opportunity that recovery treatment offers for a sober, healthy and fulfilling life.

In concept, treatment is easy at an inpatient drug rehab facility. There is a great staff surrounding the addict, and they are charged with making sure that sobriety is an option that the addict can attain. The accommodations in treatment are generally peaceful, and there are people surrounding the addict who genuinely care about and nurture the whole person who is recovering from addiction.

There are few responsibilities that are demanded of the addict, unlike those of day-to-day life – the need to pay bills, clean the house and take care of the children, much less show up at the office on time and sober.  All of these are removed from the addict’s shoulders which make them available to concentrate on their own healing and growth.

In reality, treatment is one of the hardest things anyone will have to encounter. The demands of intensive therapy, which investigates the addict’s most private and internal motivations, are extreme. The emotional energy expended just discovering what it is that has driven the addict to arrive at this place of recovery from a life out of control is a task that many do not want to face.

There is the need to adopt physical exercise and a proper nutritional program, in order to sustain the addict’s physical body during the stress and trauma that are part of recovering from drug abuse. There is the need to recreate or rehabilitate a life that has been damaged by addiction behaviors.

Only with the most talented and dedicated support professionals and medical staff can an addict reach for the stability that a sober and enriched life can offer.

Malaysia’s leading exhibition for the construction and building industry is seeking a global perspective with marked increase in international participation along with new business matching program.

Let’s Eat Some Chocolate! New Studies Strengthen Connection Between Chocolate And Maintaining a Healthy Heart

Consuming up to one hundred grams of chocolate per day is connected to decreased heart disease and stroke risk.
In the past, research has shown that there is a connection between eating chocolate and memory loss, and now new research is showing that it may be good for maintaining a healthy heart also.

It is the newest discovery since finding out that eating peanuts and drinking coffee could actually be good for the health of the heart.

The new study conducted by the Universities of Aberdeen, Manchester, Cambridge and East Anglia in the United Kingdom shows that consuming up to one hundred grams of chocolate per day is connected to decrease heart disease and stroke risk. The researchers stated there also does not seem to be proof that cutting out chocolate to reduce the chances of cardiovascular disease.

The researchers determined the conclusion through a studying more than twenty-thousand adults that monitor the impact of diet on the health of individuals in England. In addition, they drew from studies looking at connections between chocolate and cardiovascular disease of more than 150,000 people.

Phyo Myint, a professor at the University of Aberdeen School of Medicine & Dentistry, says it’s clear from the study that more chocolate intake is linked to less of a risk of future cardiovascular events.

Myint says the study indicates that milk chocolate, which is thought of to be not as healthy than dark chocolate, was the kind of chocolate consumed by the residents, but he states dark chocolate may have similar positive health effects.

The research results,  which was comprised of more than 9,000 men and 11,000 women that were observed for about twelve years,  showed over 3,000 experienced non-fatal or fatal coronary heart disease or strokes.

The results showed that compared with those who did not eat chocolate, more intake was connected to an eleven percent lower risk of cardiovascular disease and twenty-five percent less risk of associated death, Myint says. It was also linked to a nine percent lower chance of hospital admission or fatality as a result of coronary heart disease, after taking account of dietary factors, he says.

According to Myint, with more chocolate consumed there was with less of a risk for stroke, even with possible risk factors.

Because this research is based on what was observed, Myint states that there are no solid conclusions in regards to cause and effect that can be determined. In addition, he says that the research is based on a biased recall and may underestimate items consumed.

Reverse causation – those with a more of a risk for cardiovascular disease consuming less chocolate and foods with chocolate in it than those who are healthier, may also help to give an explanation of the results, Myint states.

Ashland University to Reinstate Men’s Soccer Program Starting with 2016 Season

ASHLAND, OH – Oct 06, 2015 – Ashland University officials have announced that it is reinstating the men’s soccer program on campus starting with the fall 2016 season. The program was discontinued prior to the fall 2013 season.

“We are very excited to be able to announce that we are reinstating the men’s soccer program at Ashland University beginning with the fall 2016 season,” said AU President Dr. Carlos Campo. “Our student-athletes excel both on and off the field, and we anticipate that student-athletes competing in men’s soccer next year will add to and further diversify our tradition of excellence.”

AU Athletic Director Al King said the department has begun a national search for the men’s soccer coach and is starting to schedule games for the 2016 season. “Our main task right now is to spread the word so that prospective male student-athletes know they have an opportunity to once again play soccer for Ashland University,” he said.

The Ashland University’s men’s soccer program began play both as a varsity sport and as a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in the fall of 1995. In their 18 seasons as a varsity sport, the Eagle men had an overall record of 171-127-29 (.567). The reinstated program will practice and compete at Ferguson Soccer Field, the state-of-the art sport turf soccer field that was made possible by the donation of local businessman Ben Ferguson. Ferguson Field was completed in 2010 as part of the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex and also serves as the home field for the AU women’s soccer team.

Ashland reached the NCAA Division II postseason five times – 2001, 2003 and 2008-10. The Eagles earned a spot in the D-II Elite Eight in 2001. Also included in that time was a GLIAC Tournament championship in 2010, as well as four GLIAC regular-season – 2005 and 2008-10. The 2005 regular-season crown snapped Mercyhurst’s 10-year run as conference champions/co-champions.

During its first stint in the GLIAC, Ashland’s men earned three Coach of the Year awards, two Defensive Player of the Year awards and two Freshman of the Year awards.

The reinstatement of men’s soccer gives Ashland a total of 10 men’s sports – baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming and diving, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, and wrestling – to go along with the 10 women’s sports – basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, and volleyball. A perennial powerhouse in NCAA Division II athletics, AU has finished in the Learfield Sports Director’s Cup all-sports standings Top 10 for eight consecutive seasons, placing second in 2014-15.

Erie, Pennsylvania – The award-winning team at Lyons Den Productions are excited to announce their next feature film will be “Unearth”, a uniquely American horror story about the terrifying repercussions sown by shortsighted decisions, and what our children reap from our actions. This announcement comes with the launch of a Kickstarter campaign tomorrow, Tuesday October 6th, to raise the necessary funding for the project expected to go into production next year in northwestern Pennsylvania. 

Equal parts docu-drama and eco-horror, “Unearth” was inspired by increasing environmental concerns ripped from today’s headlines. The film’s writer and director, John C. Lyons, said of the project “In light of new evidence uncovered by journalists like Public Herald regarding years of cover-up by state regulators regarding water contamination caused by the Marcellus shale industry, I think now more than ever it is time for a film like “Unearth”.

Jennifer Hooper, star of feature films “Schism” and “There Are No Goodbyes”, and an award-winning filmmaker herself, has snagged one of the film’s lead roles as has Ruth Thoma Andrews, a stage and screen veteran who’s appeared in over 50 plays in the past 30 years. Several lead roles have yet to be cast. Scripts are being sent to actors and agents and the filmmakers hope to hold auditions, both locally and online.  

“Monster” Mark Kosobucki, a graduate of the Douglas Education Center for Special Makeup FX and Sculpting will serve as the film’s Special FX Coordinator and Graphic Designer. Andy Flatley, who has scored each of Lyons Den Productions’ films, will return to paint music to image.

Horror film fanatics and eco-conscious citizens alike can help make the film a reality by contributing to the project’s Kickstarter campaign. Kikerpill Leger knows that in order for there to be a change, more individuals must get involved.

Sandy Kikerpill Leger is one of the co-founders of the Abolish Slavery Coalition. In starting this organization, she established the standard for helping others by being a humanitarian through providing resources for those victims of slavery that the Abolish Slavery Coalition saved. She has helped countless individuals rehabilitate their lives after they endured the grips of human trafficking domestically and overseas in places like Cambodia. For years she brought aid to survivors such as nourishment, water, medical aid, education, and vocational training. Devoted to her work, she even personally provided these resources to the survivors that required them. She also brought essential resources to internally displaced peoples in Burma, Laos, and Thailand.

In an interview with the Abolish Slavery Coalition, she clarifies common misconceptions about modern day human trafficking. She also explains the need for awareness of this problem. The reality is that human trafficking is still alive and prevalent, though it is not visible in the United States. Just because it is so unknown in the United States does not mean that we as humans should be apathetic to the plight of the victims of human trafficking. Kikerpill Leger knows that in order for there to be a change, more individuals must get involved and take a stand against such unethical practices such as slavery.

Even with Kikerpill Leger’s busy life that usually involves real estate and financial advisement, Kikerpill Leger has still found time to devote to helping others. By creating the Abolish Slavery Coalition, she has created a forum for the discussion, awareness, and forward-moving action against human trafficking and slavery. This disgusting practice is still happening in the modern world and Kikerpill Leger is a trustworthy individual that has spent years of her life dedicated to putting an end to it.

Kikerpill Leger was a supporter of Proposition 35, a proposition in which more harsh laws against human traffickers are put into place and individuals who are caught participating in enforcing sexual slavery and convicted must register as sex offenders. This proposition is in the state of California, and shows that due to Kikerpill Leger’s awareness of this global problem, individuals are beginning to take action. It is called the Californians Against Sexual Exploitation Act, or CASE, and is the most recent piece of legislation against sexual slavery brought to the forefront. 

Kikerpill Leger knows that the change in these human rights issues needs to begin in schools. In her interview with the Abolish Slavery Coalition, she speaks about educating individuals as early as junior high about the reality of sex, rather than allowing them to be distracted by the glamorization of the sex industry as they age. Kikerpill Leger knows that the change must start with each individual, and with all of humanity binding together, individuals have the power to end such atrocities.

Go Investment help-to-buy scheme in Egypt helps 100s of first time holiday home owners

08 Oct, 2015 – After helping 100s of British buyers purchase holiday homes in one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world, Go Investment have extended the help to buy scheme until December 2015.

Go Investments help-to-buy scheme was only temporarily to give first time buyers a chance to purchase a dream holiday home in the all year sunshine giving anybody a help to get on the overseas property ladder.

The scheme, which was launched by the Go Investment late 2014, allows future homebuyers with deposits from just £2,316 of a property’s price to buy a new-build apartment with sea views with the help of an interest free developers guaranteed payment plan.

“But while 100s of first-time buyers have benefited,” said Ben Radcliffe, sales advisor at Go Investment, “the impact on the prices in the development will rise very soon.”

“The advantages of taking this chance is not only getting on the property ladder but the weather in Egypt is all year round sunshine to get away from the terrible weather here in the UK and have the sun on tap whenever you want it plus the no stamp duty tax in Egypt under £50,000 when the average price of apartments is only £25,000 has made a big impact in sales for investors,” he said.

Furthermore, Hurghada now named ‘Queen and pearl of tourist cities’ This is now named by the Arab Center for Media tourism, having won Best Arab tourist destination for 2015, according to a poll conducted by the Center among a number of other tourist cities.

Radcliffe added “Due to the tourism now in Hurghada hitting 97% occupancies in hotels during the school holidays, not only are our clients purchasing as a little getaway holiday home but a fantastic investment opportunity due to the amount of potential rental income and capital growth in the area.”

UK master agents Go Investment are now taking reservations on the Help-to-buy scheme until December 2015.
